Did you know about speed eating? Speed eating is an amazing sport that is just starting to catch on. Competitions are held throughout the world and the winners are treated as real champions. If you have never seen a real speed eating match, then you are in for a treat. They even televise the games now on ESPN!
It all began with the famous Coney Island hot dog eating competition. For some reason, as word about the event spread, contestants started showing up from all over the world. It became a popular event that kicked off the Summer season for a lot of people. In the most recent dog eating competition, the winner ate almost 60 hot dogs with the buns in twelve minutes. I have no idea how they do it, but it is amazing.
What gets me, is that not everyone who enters is fat! In fact, one of the best eaters in the world is a 98 pound, thin woman! I am telling you, these things have to be seen to be believed. They now have chicken wing eating matches, egg eating, pizza eating, water melon eating, you name it. The amount a true speed eater can eat in a few minutes leaves me in shock. The winner of the chicken eating competition ate almost one hundred wings. I could not eat that in two days, let along fifteen minutes.
I am telling you, this is the sport of the future, mark my words. I bet we will soon be seeing hot dog eating in the Olympics. Now there's a sport where I bet I could still compete!
